Thoughts
Built into God’s system for man, God’s way of doing things, is the idea of
REWARD. IT IS BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE! On the good side,
being with God eternally is our goal. The opposite is not being in God’s
eternal presence. All of life is here!
We used this passage a few days ago: "For what will it profit a man
if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in
exchange for his soul?” Matt 16:26
Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came to
Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your
reward shall be very great."
Heb 11:26 considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than
the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. [of
Moses]
Acts 20:32 "And now I commend you to God and to the word of
His grace, which is able to build [you] up and to give [you] the inheritance among all
those who are sanctified.
Eph 1:13-14 In Him, you also, after listening to the
message of truth, the gospel of your salvation — having also
believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of
promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s
own possession, to the praise of His glory.
1Pet 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain
an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for
you, 5 who are protected by the
power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.
This reward - inheritance idea makes me feel good on this Monday morning.
Rejoice with me today that God has wonderful things planned and sealed for us.
My Prayer:
Father, we rejoice that you have promised us eternity with you, and that you
have made that promise possible in Christ Jesus. Oh the ways you have
provided for us in spite of our weakness and sin. You, Oh God, loved us
first. Thank you for love, and grace and mercy in Christ
Jesus. More than anything, we want to live with you forever.
We praise you for hope.
In the name of Jesus
Amen
